Rights and Power

Rights are a story we tell ourselves. They are not inherent or inalienable. If you do not have power, you do not have rights. With enough power you can have rights that don't exist for ordinary people.

On 1/6 Trump committed crimes against the state. He committed countless crimes before that. He is committing more every day. He has the power to do this so he does.

Maduro was indicted in a US court. As we've learned this could mean a lot or nothing at all. Whatever rights he had under international law or Venezuelan law are now irrelevant because Trump has the power. Trump was indicted in a US court too but remains free because of power.

The only way this stops is when Trump loses power. Our next opportunity to take his power will be in the 2026 elections. Let's not fuck around.
